DPDP compliance software for law firms

By Suryansh Sagar, founder of Gevox. Last updated 6 October 2026.

A law firm’s DPDP practice is usually limited by associate hours, not by demand: the advice is where the value is, while intake, drafting standard documents and tracking deadlines are where the hours go. Gevox carries those parts in one workspace per client, so the firm’s time goes on the judgement only a lawyer can give.

From the Gevox Readiness Index: Gevox scanned the websites of twenty Indian firms that sell DPDP advice. Nineteen set cookies or loaded tracking before anyone had consented, and the average score was 71 out of 100.

What stays with the lawyer

Choosing the legitimate ground for each purpose under Section 7, deciding where consent under Section 6 is the right basis and where it is not, tailoring a notice to what the business actually does, advising when a breach becomes a matter for the regulator, and anything that turns on a contested reading of the text. None of that is automated here and none of it should be.

What the workspace carries

The parts of the matter that are the same every time.

  • Structured intake by link, so the fact base arrives complete rather than across a dozen emails.
  • An examination of the client’s website against the Act, each finding cited to its provision and linked to the text.
  • Standard documents generated from the intake, for the lawyer to review and adapt rather than to draft from nothing.
  • Rights and breach registers with the clocks under Rule 14 and Rule 7 running live.
  • A gap assessment the client can read, under the firm’s name on Suite.

Every finding can be checked

Each finding names the provision it engages and links to the text in the Gevox reference. Nothing is decided by a language model. A lawyer reviewing the output can verify every line against the statute in one click, which is the only standard of work a firm can sign.

If the question is about the firm itself

A law firm processes a great deal of personal data on its own account. The sector guide for law firms covers the firm’s own obligations; this page is about the practice it offers clients.

Questions practitioners ask

Does Gevox give legal advice?
No. It records facts, examines what can be examined, and cites the provision each finding engages. Legal advice is the lawyer’s, and the documents it generates are drafts for review.
Can several associates work on the same clients?
Yes. Practice includes two seats, Suite three and Firm ten, each with roles, client assignment and an audit trail of every action. Extra seats are Rs 1,499 a month on any of them. All of it opens from the pricing page.
Can the output carry the firm’s name? Is Gevox white-label?
Yes. Suite and Firm are white-label: reports print the firm’s name, with a small Gevox line at the foot of each page.
How is privilege handled?
Gevox holds each client’s records in a separate workspace under the firm’s account. Whether a given document attracts privilege is a question of law for the firm, and nothing in Gevox changes that.
