Section 32

Voluntary undertaking

Lets the Board accept a voluntary undertaking at any stage, which bars proceedings on its contents but binds the giver.

Read this before you cite anything here

These pages are a plain-English restatement, written to help you find the right provision and understand what it asks of you. They are not the text of the statute, and nothing here should be quoted as though it were. Section and rule numbers are exact, and every page names its source.

What it says

01
The Board may accept a voluntary undertaking from a person at any stage of proceedings. Acceptance bars further proceedings on the contents of the undertaking, and the Board may vary its terms with consent.
02
Breach of any term of an accepted undertaking is deemed to be a breach of the Act.

In practice

An undertaking closes the proceedings but converts its own terms into statutory obligations. Breaking one is not a contractual failure, it is a breach of the Act, and it reopens exposure at the band that applied to the original conduct.
